Carnivore Diet Benefits and Potential Pitfalls – Will a Meat Only Diet Work for You?

Is the Carnivore Diet something you should try? Fad diets and new ideas about nutrition are always popping up. A huge percentage of emails I receive on a daily basis are related to diet.

The carnivore diet is no exception. Can the human body not only survive but actually thrive? What about all the nutrients, vitamins and monerals we get from vegetables? And what impact can a meat only diet have on our gut health?

As I dive into the topic of benefits of the carnivore diet I know there are only two ways I can approach the subject.

1- Gather a ton of information from reputable sources and sift through it all until I can make some sense of the carnivore diet. Then explain it to you in bite-sized bits of info.


2- ALL IN. Do everything in option 1 PLUS go on the carnivore diet for 1 month.

I chose option 2. More on that later.

What is a Carnivore?

[Wikipedia] A carnivore meaning “meat eater” (Latin, carne meaning “meat” or “flesh” and vorare meaning “to devour”), is an organism that derives its energy and nutrient requirements from a diet consisting mainly or exclusively of animal tissue, whether through predation or scavenging.

I also believe that the dіеt is unlіkеlу tо bе hаrmful – еѕресіаllу if wеll-fоrmulаtеd. Thе overwhelming bоdу оf evidence роіntѕ to them having substantial health benefits. Tо ѕum uр, I dоn’t thіnk a zеrо саrb dіеt is hаrmful.But personally, I thіnk a diet that includes a vаrіеtу оf nutrient-dense animal аnd plant foods іѕ optimal.

Our Approach & Slightly Altered Version of the Carnivore Diet

As I set out to live on the carnivore diet for one month I knew I’d need s second participant. A female participant will give us balanced results between make and female carnivores. I invited my client and friend Angie. I know I can count on Angie to stay strict and disciplined. Only 1 porter house per day!

I’m thrilled to dive right into the project and to observe the effects and results for both a male and a female.

If you follow my blog you know I do indeed walk the walk so of course I’m looking forward to reporting on my own personal results.on the carnivore diet. The diet actually won’t completely shock to my body. I’ve been in and out of Ketosis quite a bit of my adult life. While on ketogenic diets. I’ve always been able to maintain an ideal profile of lean muscle mass to body fat. .
