STRETCHING BENEFITS – why you need to stretch

Stretching Benefits

You may have overlooked stretching benefits so let’s shed some light on the topic. Proper stretching techniques are essential in maintaining a healthy, limber body. In my mission to be your choice for best personal trainer and fitness blogger I want to cover all topics including stretching benefits.

Stretching Benefits for a Healthy Body

Stretching benefits the body in a bunch of ways but most people focus on relief from workouts. A stretch routine will help minimize the effects of aging on the body far more than exercise alone. Think of it like exercising and eating right. Why do one without the other. You’ll find that stretching is another, sometimes overlooked, important part of being fit.

If you haven’t been into stretching in the past that’s perfectly fine but you should learn to make it a part of your daily routine. As an outdoor personal trainer some of my clients actually tell me that they hate stretching on their own because they aren’t very flexible. What? Alright, that sounds a little backwards to me but the good news is you’ll start to become more flexible soon when you experience stretching benefits in to your daily routine.

Your stretch program doesn’t have to feel like a major change in your life. When you look at the huge list of stretching benefits related to such a small investment of time you’ll realize you can (and should) start right away. If you already have a workout buddy the two of you should consider adding stretching to your partner training program.

Stretching benefits your body even if you aren’t very physically active. If you’re looking for help starting a 1-on-1 fitness routine which includes in home personal training and stretching consider hiring a fitness trainer for a complete program. When you learn to stretch more often and do it correctly your limbs and joints can handle more rigorous activities such as boot camp, rock climbing, long bike rides, running and other exercises.  Plus you’ll run a much lower risk of injury by avoiding having stiff muscles and tight joints.

Stretching is Natural

Stretching comes naturally to all of us. You might notice that if you have been sitting in a particular position for a long time, you stretch unconsciously. It feels good! In addition to that good feeling, a consistent stretching program will produce large gains in flexibility and joint movement. You’ll gradually prepare your body for more intense workouts including interval training.
